Kim Jong Un Death Reports: South Korean Officials Say North Korean Leader Is ‘Alive And Well’ – Perez Hilton

Despite a flurry of media activity on the possible death of North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un over the last 24 hours, South Korean officials have come out to report the politician is “alive and well.”

This comes after Kim’s name trended on social media for much of Saturday night, following various reports that he was either dead or “in grave condition after a surgery,” according to US intelligence officials who spoke about the matter with CNN.

As late as Sunday morning, US Senator Lindsey Graham was further fanning the flames about Kim’s supposed death — a topic that has been in the front and center of the news for days now, with reports of supposed intelligence about the matter first surfacing earlier this week. Suspicions first arose more than a week ago after Kim missed the celebration of his grandfather’s birthday back on April 15.

But not, South Korea’s top foreign policy adviser has come out publicly about the issue, speaking to CNN himself and completely denying anything is going on like that with their neighbors to the north. Moon Chung-in, the top foreign policy aide to South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in said to the media outlet:

“Our government position is firm. Kim Jong Un is alive and well. He has been staying in the Wonsan area since April 13. No suspicious movements have so far been detected.”

Indeed, satellite images capturing movements within the locked-down country seem to confirm that claim; according to multiple media outlets, the satellite photos seem to show Kim’s personal train sitting in a private station meant for only him and his family in the Wonsan area. The leader spent considerable time in that area growing up as a child, and has been known to frequent it quite a bit more recently as an adult, too, so it doesn’t seem particularly suspicious that he would be there now.

Now it does appear that Kim may have had a medical procedure at some point in the recent past; multiple Korean publications on both sides of the border report varying notes about an alleged cardiovascular procedure due to “excessive smoking, obesity, and overwork.” From what those reports suggest, it appears Kim is recovering and currently receiving treatment in that Wonsan area as he recuperates. Still, American intelligence officials remain somewhat skeptical, and American news sources are quick to note they are unable to confirm those alleged reports.

According to Fox News, Kim’s likely successor — should it come to that — could be his younger sister, Kim Yo Jong. Relatively less is known internationally about her compared to her older brother, as she’s been far more private up until this point, though she did release a public statement last week criticizing the government of South Korea, so it appears she’s taking on more of a public face, at least for now.

Whatever happens, just add this to the list of wild “only in 2020” things that has made this year unforgettable… in all the wrong ways. What a world we live in right now, ya know?! What do y’all think, Perezcious readers?? Sound OFF about it down in the comments (below)…
